ACTIVITIES

There are many activities you can enjoy while staying at Copsefield Bed and Breakfast. We have two bikes and two canoes for our guests to use, so you may like to take a 10-minute ride to one of our local beaches.

Opoutere Beach is one of Coromandel's gems, with walking access only. A sanctuary for oystercatcher, and dotterel birds, the shallow harbour opens on to a 5km unspoilt white surf beach. You can swim, walk and enjoy the rare bird life.

Whangamata has the best surf beach on the Coromandel Peninsula. The township has an abundance of arts and craft shops and great restaurants and cafes. You could take a fishing trip on one of the tours that operates out of the harbour.

Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach (both must-sees) are within easy driving distance from Copsefield Bed and Breakfast. Sea kayaking or a scenic boat venture can be arranged for you.

Travel the “309 Road” to the Coromandel Township. Stop off at the Waiau Waterworks, a place that features whimsical contraptions and interactive playthings, all worked by water. Visit the Coromandel Kauri Grove, a group of Kauri trees protected since the turn of the century.

In Coromandel township you can experience the thrill of a 1-hour round trip on New Zealand’s only narrow gauge mountain railway, and take in superb views, magnificent engineering, unique art features and replanted native kauri forests.

There is plenty to do and see and we at Copsefield are happy to assist you with travel and sightseeing plans.
